A Perfect Family Day by Boat around Brac

Rent A Boat Brač

Morning in Milna – boarding and briefing

The day begins in picturesque Milna, the home base of Rent a Boat Mrdulja. The crew greets you with a detailed safety briefing—lifejackets for children of every size, a drinks cooler and a GPS plotter already waiting on the deck of a Cap Camarat or Elan 20 CC. After a quick rundown of the route and advice on where to anchor, you cast off toward the island’s northern coast.

First stop: the sandy cove of Lovrečina

After about twenty minutes of easy cruising you reach Lovrečina, the best-known sandy beach on Brač. The shallow, warm sea stretches almost 100 m from shore, ideal for little ones to burn off their first “sea batteries”. A dense pine forest behind the beach supplies natural shade, and the sand is perfect for castles and unbeatable Instagram shots.

Educational break in Pučišća

After the morning swim, point your bow toward Pučišća, the island’s stone-carving capital. Children will be amazed by the impressive Stonemasonry School, the only one in this part of Europe still working stone with ancient tools. A short stroll along the waterfront and an ice-cream in the shade are the perfect pause before the next, even more secluded bay.

Turquoise time-out in Rasotica Bay

Rasotica is a deeply indented bay framed by aromatic pines and turquoise water. Drop anchor in 8–10 m and take a stern line ashore—the kids grab masks and fins while you slice chilled watermelon from the cooler. According to the Imray guide, Rasotica ranks as one of the most beautiful bays in the Adriatic, so expect the occasional neighbour boat, but the colours and calm easily outshine any crowd.

Lunch and snorkelling in Lučice

For the afternoon break, head to Lučice on the south side. The bay has five arms; the western ones are fitted with mooring buoys, while the eastern offer plenty of space to anchor and top-class snorkelling. In the central arm a local konoba awaits—the ideal spot for fresh octopus ispod peke while the children explore sea urchins in the shallows.

A history adventure in Smrka

On the homeward leg westward, drop anchor in Smrka, a hidden bay that still holds the remains of a WWII naval base. The old tunnel entrance and concrete ramp will thrill young adventurers—an excellent chance for a short history lesson before the evening swim.

Golden hour and the return to Milna

As the sun sinks, cruise back along the south-west coast toward Milna. The golden glow on Brač’s limestone and the glassy channel create the backdrop for a perfect family photo. At the harbour entrance you make sure the kids are tired but happy, and with full hearts—and memory cards—you moor at Mrdulja’s dock.
